Why Lash Clusters Are Better Than Lash Extensions

By Laila Hicks

Lash extensions suck, so stop spending your money on them when they cost hundreds of dollars for them to fall out by the third day. Lash extensions are semi permanent lashes that people get to make their eyelashes seem thicker, fuller, and longer.

While these may seem like a good thing to have because it would take less time getting ready, not having the need to do mascara, there is an alternative option with much more pros compared to extensions. Lash clusters. Lash clusters are semi permanent lashes that can last up to 2 weeks without having to replace them at all.

When getting lash extensions, you go to a licensed lash technician, and have to sit on a bed for about 3 hours, while the lash technician puts lashes on each individual eyelash based on your preference and the style you chose, but why do that when you could do it at the comfort of your own home, on your own time, with the style you want, in only 30 minutes to an hour, and have them last much longer?

According to Styleseat | Grow With Style, “In addition to the cost of the initial appointment, you also need to consider the cost of refills, removal, lash baths, and gratuity. You don’t want to skip these additional services since they help keep your lashes healthy and safe.

  • Removal appointments to professionally take off your lashes can cost between $25 and $50
  • Refill appointments to refill fallen lashes and clean up your extensions can cost anywhere from $55 to $110 or more
  • Lash baths to clean your lashes prior to your appointment can cost between $5 and $20
  • Removal appointments to professionally take off your lashes can cost between $25 and $50
  • Refill appointments to refill fallen lashes and clean up your extensions can cost anywhere from $55 to $110 or more
  • Lash baths to clean your lashes prior to your appointment can cost between $5 and $20

All of these things added up are way above $200 which already sounds crazy just to have some lashes.

Lash clusters only take about 30 minutes when you start getting used to doing them. I asked one of my friends, Morgan Goodbar, grade 9, “Which do you prefer, lash clusters, or lash extensions?” Her response was, “Lash clusters because they’re cheaper and you can do them at home the way you want them.”

Not only do lash clusters take such a short amount of time compared to lash extensions, the price difference is huge. Lash extensions cost hundreds of dollars to fall off in a couple of days, while lash clusters cost $10-$30 and last about 2 weeks without having to replace them.

For the replacement, if your lash extensions were to fall off, you would need to go to your lash technician and get a refill which can cost up to $110, but if a lash cluster were to fall off, the kits you buy for clusters have around 120 clusters, so you can use the glue that comes with the kit, and replace a lash for free.

Lash clusters are better than extensions because they are cheaper, easier to apply, and you can take them off whenever you want. Not feeling the need to spend hours at a salon or having to spend hundreds of dollars. They are a more comfortable choice for people that want to do lashes and not deal with the struggles.
