On January 1st, 2026 there were over 100 people all over the world that got nominated for the GOAT award. Some of these people being Daniel Caesar, Lee Heeseung, SZA, Anne Hathaway, Lebron James, Trevor Davis, and more! Everyone in the world was able to vote from January 1st through March 1st, really letting the decision marinate.
Benicia High School (BHS) saw that Trevor Davis, a physics teacher at BHS, got nominated for the award and felt that it was incredibly important to represent him and hype him up. On social media the tags “#MrDavis #Vote4Davis #MrDavisTheGOAT” were trending a lot. Eventually the entire town of Benicia began to represent him and they wore Mr. Davis shirts everywhere.
Who knew that Benicia being this dedicated to making Mr. Davis would help him get enough publicity to win the GOAT award. Eventually the USA began to cheer on Mr. Davis, everyone admired the fact that nobody had anything bad to say about Mr. Davis and everyone wanted to vote for him. He had no scandals, a clean record and when he got interviewed? He was humble and his humor was refreshing.
In an interview with CNN he was asked about why he thinks that he got nominated for the award and he simply said, “I mean I don’t know. If anything I believe Taylor Swift is the GOAT and she should’ve been nominated. I was expecting to just relax and vote for her for this award but then I got an email on how I got nominated and I thought it was a scam but later found out that it wasn’t. The point is I don’t know why I got nominated when I’m just a normal physics teacher but I am thankful for this opportunity, it’s like entering a whole new world.”
The media loved that clip of him. Everyone edited him, voted for him, had shirts with his face on it, and just cheered him on! Nobody else was getting as much attention as Mr. Davis was. This win was looking as clear as clean ocean water.
There was a huge ceremony in Antarctica where they would then announce the winner. And as expected Mr. Davis won the award! Lee Heeseung came in 2nd place and Lebron James in 3rd.
Mr. Davis was asked to give a speech and he had a tiny one prepared but ended up saying a lot more. He was filled with joy over the fact he won this award.
A viral clip of him from this ceremony has him saying, “Wow. Thank you so much for this award. It means a lot to me. I am so incredibly grateful for this award, the way I would’ve never even imagined attending anything like this and now I’m here holding ‘The GOAT’ award is mindblowing. Who knew a physics teacher would win this award? I didn’t know for sure. I just want to thank Benicia and all of the USA for hyping me up much better than my PR team did. Most importantly I want to thank my students who really pushed on making me viral so I could actually even win this award. They supported me everyday when they walked into my class. But most importantly I want to thank Aiyah Usison who managed to get me nominated, she is an amazing student so I want to thank her for that.”
Obviously he did more thanking but the fact he thanked Aiyah Usison just has to be included, like the fact she managed to get him nominated is amazing. She is so awesome sauce.
Moral of the story, remember Mr. Davis is the GOAT!
