Donald Trump Replaces Benjamin Franklin’s Face with his on the $100 Bill

By Isabella Capulong

In a hypothetical and highly controversial policy shift, discussions have emerged around the idea of replacing Benjamin Franklin with current President Donald Trump on the United States $100 bill. While no such measure has been enacted in reality, the concept has generated significant debate among political analysts, historians, and economists.

Advocates of the proposed redesign argue that currency should evolve to reflect more contemporary figures who have shaped the nation’s recent history. They suggest that updating widely circulated denominations could symbolize a shift toward modern representation in national iconography.

However, critics strongly oppose the idea, emphasizing the longstanding tradition of honoring early American leaders such as Franklin, whose contributions to diplomacy, science, and the founding of the United States remain widely recognized. Many historians caution that altering currency to feature modern political figures could risk politicizing a system that has traditionally aimed to remain neutral and historically grounded.

Economic experts note that while a design change would likely have little direct impact on the value of the dollar, it could influence public perception and trust in government institutions. Currency design, they argue, carries symbolic weight that extends beyond its practical function.

A fictional policy advisor, speaking within this hypothetical scenario, summarized the debate:

Economic experts follow along with “Currency is one of the most visible symbols of national identity. Any decision to alter it must balance historical legacy with contemporary relevance.”

Ultimately, while the proposal remains purely speculative, it highlights broader questions about how nations choose to represent their history, values, and leadership through enduring public symbols.

Although it may not be a good idea knowing people’s opinion on our President at the moment. Will it really happen? Some people question if this is a fact or a rumor although most people hope it is a rumor.
