Rapper/performer Travis Scott’s new album, Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight, is due very soon. After repeated delays and unspoken absences in material, Scott announced on Instagram that the album was done. Reportedly, the album was finished on Kanye West’s tour bus, as West brought Scott on as a supporting act. The album will feature headline rappers such as Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, and Young Thug. Production is being handled by Cashmere Cat and trap producers like TM88 and Metro Boomin’.
In the weeks leading up to Scott putting the finishing touches on his album, he prematurely canceled all European shows and concerts. For a brief history; in early January he announced the title of the album, then didn’t mention the record for months. In May he started announcing release dates on Snapchat that came and went with radio silence from his camp. Various message boards have grown angry at the young artist for not releasing the long-gestating project, and many are questioning whether it was going to live up to the hype, let alone come out at all.
On the 31st of August, Travis Scott completely finished mixing and mastering the album with his recording engineer, Mike Dean. Dean had been vocal in his anger against people tweeting incessantly for him to finish the album, as he had little to no control over it. Travis finally ended his silence (and confirming the album’s completion) by putting out a statement saying the he “can finally tweet again.”
