Ryley Boutain (12) is a wrestler for Benicia High School. Boutain attains a 3.5 GPA, and in his spare time, he likes to go fishing, camping, and bodyboarding.
He is well-known throughout the school, staying fairly quiet and not causing any trouble. Friends and peers show distinct love and respect for Boutain, explaining, “Getting to know him and being able to call him my friend is awesome. Ryley is a supportive friend and a chill person to be around.”
Boutain’s favorite memory about wrestling was going to Hawaii with his team and riding in the van to tournaments. During the 2016-2017 school year Boutain went to 2017 CIF State Boys Wrestling Championship as a junior. Ryley felt accomplished, but knew he wasn’t satisfied by just qualifying–he wanted to place.
Coach T said of Ryley: “Hopefully he places high at state because he’s been a state qualifier for the past two years and hopes he’ll be satisfied with his accomplishments.”
As a senior Boutain looks forward to placing in the state meet this year. With hard work and dedication he will be able to achieve his goal. After high school Ryley plans to attend University of Hawaii Manoa or San Francisco State University.
