The month of October is finally upon us and it’s time to get spooky. Halloween is a holiday favorited by many and is full of pumpkins, candy, spooky stories, and dressing up as something you wish to be. Here are three ways to get yourself into the spooky spirit.
Visit a pumpkin patch and participate in activities –
There are so many different pumpkin patches in the Bay Area and each pumpkin patch has different festive activities for people of all ages to enjoy. One of my favorite patches is the Petaluma Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma Ca. This patch has one of the most impressive corn mazes in the world. They also offer an abundance of different foods and even a hayride. Another great pumpkin patch to visit is Speer Family Farms pumpkin patch in Alameda Ca. They offer a wide selection of jumpers for kids and even a petting zoo filled with farm animals. It’s definitely a patch for everyone to enjoy. One more local patch is the Larry’s Produce in Fairfield, CA. This is one of the smaller patches, but is definitely still enjoyable, as it offers a selection of jumpers and of course pumpkins. So make sure you visit one of your local pumpkin patches this season; you wont regret it.
Watch some spooky films –
Scary movies or even just Halloween themed movies are a big part of the spooky season. Television programs such as Freeform doing 31 nights of Halloween, the AMC fear fest, Disney channel’s monstober for the kids and SYFY’s 31 days of Halloween are all great recommendations. Some great Halloween movies to watch include Disney’s Nightmare Before Christmas which is a great film for the family, Disney’s Hocus Pocus which is another great film for people of all ages, Night of the Living Dead, a classic horror movie about zombies, and Scream, a classic horror slasher movie and 1978 classic Halloween movie about the very night itself. These are just a few options of all the great spooky and festive movies out there for you to see.
Visit a Halloween store and pick out a costume –
Wearing a Halloween costume is one of the most festive parts of the season. There are so many stores to purchase a halloween costume or supplies to make your own. Stores local to us like Party City or Halloween City in Vallejo, Ca. There are so many options to dress up as something scary, your favorite movie or tv character, or even an animal. Dressing up for Halloween gives you the opportunity to be something you have always wanted to be.
Halloween is coming soon so don’t forget to do some things to get yourself into the Halloween spirit. There is so much you can do to get into the Halloween spirit, but some extra things you can do is decorate your home, eat tons of candy and go to haunted houses.
