By Dylan Greenwell

On December 1st around 3:20 am, 10 were wounded in a shooting on Canal Street. This happened after the Bayou Classic football game, an annual college football game between Grambling State University Tigers and the Southern University Jaguars.

Authorities detained a person of interest that was near the shooting, but they were later released. There were so many people in the area that they were not able to officially determine who fired the shots. A witness said they heard a verbal altercation and then gunshots.

Everyone involved in the shooting is now in stable condition. Two were said to be in critical at first, but that was later changed to stable.

Police are investigating by looking at surveillance footage in the area that it took place.
