Early Sunday morning brought saddening news to the many fans of regional Mexican singer, Vicente Fernandez, aka “Chente,” as he passed at 6:15 a.m in a hospital located in Jalisco at 81.
Across the country, many gathered to celebrate the life of Fernandez and the impact he had on regional Mexican music.
Big crowds gathered all day in Los Angeles at the stars’ Hollywood Walk-Of-Fame star to sing and grieve in remembrance.
Multiple Latin celebrities including Ricky Martin, Pitbull, and Maluma, came to social media to share their condolences on the passing of Fernandez.
Even Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador was among the many who had also expressed his condolences, calling him “a symbol of the ranchera music.”

In a recent twitter post made by LAPD, Sunday evening at about 6:15 pm, many calls were received about gunshots being fired in the area of 6201 Hollywood Boulevard.
According to police and witnesses, the shots were reported to have been coming from an apartment building near the scene, on 6200 Hollywood Boulevard.
Luckily, no one was hurt or harmed, though a nearby storefront glass door was shattered by one of the 8 shots.
