The past couple of years have seen an increase in beauty lines from fragrances to cosmetics, and each new dispatch makes one wonder; will this really be any good? Announced back in October, Ariana Grande is releasing her cosmetics line, R.E.M. Her fans couldn’t have been more excited because of their admiration for Ariana, and in light of the fact that she’s been one of the universally adored cosmetics impacts in pop culture. The drop includes highlighters, liquid eyeshadows, eyeliner pencils and markers, false lashes, a shadow palette, and lipsticks. Everything from the R.E.M. beauty line is all vegan and cruelty-free.
Ariana and her brand claim that the name R.E.M. comes from the sleep phase when vivid dreams often occur. A time when you’re most creative and limitless. At first glance, there is definitely futuristic energy from the products, from the spacey silver packaging and the galactic inspired shade ranges. It is no surprise she chose this aesthetic for the new line as she has used this same futuristic approach in many of her new music videos.
The website details Grande’s vision for the brand, stating “It means so much to me to be able to create a product line for absolutely everybody and anybody who wants to wear it and feel incredible.” For anyone interested in their website: https://rembeauty.com
The global beauty market, which last year generated nearly $500 billion in sales, has entrepreneurs set on entering the market. Celebrities get a leg up here too as they already have a fan base that will automatically follow whatever they do. Ariana’s team is making a big money move and using the market’s benefits and her fame to their pocket’s advantage. This is also why more people are debating if they should buy from the brands of their favorite influencer just because they are someone they look up to or to stay out since it might not get the return you want.
