Since its 2009 premiere, ABC’s American Idol has been arguably one of the most loved singing competition shows on the air. With hosts from Brain Dunkleman to Ryan Seacrest, and judges from Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, American Idol has always been star studded. Furthermore, the twentieth season of American Idol graced our television screens on Sunday, February 27.
Judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan are returning to check out the new round of talents. Joining them in their return will be Ryan Seacrest. The team has been close, making the show more enticing. During a recent interview featuring the American Idol judges with Good Morning America, interviewer Micheal Strahan commented, ¨The first time you all came here, after you left we all said the chemistry is incredible between all three of you.¨ Also, judging by their onscreen interaction it is no secret that the judges are all good friends.
This returning host and judges have been quite excited for the upcoming season. Perry tweeted, ¨SO thrilled @ABCNetwork is bringing back @American, and I’m bringing it back to the MUSIC.¨ Perry’s return comes after giving birth to her daughter Daisy in 2020.
Although the show is making another return, it does not seem that it will be exactly the same as it was in the last season. For example, mentor Bobby Bones will not be returning to the show. Also, there will be a platinum ticket that Perry explained, ¨We identify the best talent in each place and we give them this ticket, rather than our usual gold ticket, so this ticket gives them the ability to go to Hollywood Week.¨
Judging by the cover for the new season, it seems there will be a space theme in the new season. Also, @American Idol tweeted, ¨This season’s talent is out of this world!¨ Whether you tune in or tune out, make sure to keep an eye out for the new winner which we should be seeing soon enough!
