Superintendent Dr. Charles Young is retiring at the end of the 2021-22 school year after having been with Benicia High School for 7 years. He began working in July of 2015 and hasn’t stopped since, putting his all into a district.
Dr. Young had wanted to work for Benicia from the beginning of his career, loving the city and eventually finding how tight-knit it all is, between the people who were born and never left or were born and came back, the community is strong.
According to an interview Dr. Young had with Times~Herald here he wanted to retire to spend more positive time with his family. He is also looking forward to swimming, playing piano, and enjoying a 7-day bike riding trip in Oregon. He’s put his all into this community and his retirement is well deserved.
Dr. Young has contributed much to Benicia High School and we bid him a fond farewell as he continues his life from here.
