Benicia Volleyball Rules Miramonte During Senior Night

On Tuesday April 26, during the Benicia High School Boys’ Volleyball Senior Night, the seniors were congratulated. A ceremony was held in the gym on the court and afterwards the team began playing their second to last league match. Benicia used their high and joyful spirit to sweep the Miramonte Matadors 3-0 in a Senior Night/League Match. The team fought extremely hard to get to where they were, using their ball handling skills, passing, and hitting.

Benicia went on a streak with a perfect reception to the setter, giving the set to the outside hitter, and slamming it down about five times back to back. When asked what his favorite part of the season was, Benicia’s outside hitter Dylan Lau said “The start of the season! Specifically during our first game with American Canyon & going on a serving streak while the team & crowd was going crazy was surreal.”

On behalf of Benicia’s team, team captain, and setter, Keanu Villanueva put up 210 assists throughout the season leading the boys to success every game. Keanu was asked who was his biggest supporter? He answered by saying “my mom. She always supports me in everything I do, especially volleyball. She’s my biggest supporter, my biggest fan, and my biggest inspiration.”

The game against Miramonte was Benicia’s happiest moments together and brought pride to their home with a well fought victory.
