For the past few days, rumors have invaded the internet about Cartoon Network shutting down. This channel is incredibly nostalgic, especially for the 90s’ kids. It aired famous shows like Teen Titans, Regular Show, Total Drama Island, among other shows. Lots of iconic shows were rumored to be taken off the air. Despite internet speculation, Cartoon Network isn’t shutting down.

On October 11, 2022, it was reported that everything would remain the same for Cartoon Network Studios; the only difference is that the CN Studio would combine with Warner Bros.’ studio. Why did these two studios combine together in the first place? Well, this happened in both studios because numerous workers were laid off from their jobs.

The report was misunderstood by tons of people, which made them believe that the channel was shutting down permanently. The news spread like wildfire. On Twitter, “RIP Cartoon Network,” was heavily trending on everybody’s feeds. Everyone grieved the loss of the channel that played a huge role to their childhoods. This channel had a lot of iconic shows like Ninjago, The Amazing World of Gumball, The Powerpuff Girls, along with other nostalgic shows. However, these claims were just rumors.

The official twitter account for Cartoon Network confirmed that it wasn’t shutting down. The tweet stated that the network wasn’t disappearing, and that the channel recently turned 30 years old.

Ever since Ted Turner founded Cartoon Network on October 1st, 1992, it has influenced and brought nostalgia to whoever grew up with this channel. Thankfully, Cartoon Network will continue to produce more shows that will shape more peoples’ childhoods.
