Marvel Star, Jeremy Renner Heavily Injured In Snow Plow Accident: Multiple Surgeries Needed

By John Hammon

As of last Sunday Jan 1, 2023,Jeremy Renner, an actor best known for his role as Hawkeye in various Marvel Comics Films, was heavily injured by a snow plow after attempting to help a family member whose car was stuck in the snow.

Details of the accident were provided by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office as of Tuesday of the same week. Sheriff Darin Balaam reportedly stated this in a press conference;  “Based on our investigation, Mr. Renner’s personal vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, had become stuck in the snow near his home. Mr. Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully or Sno-Cat — an extremely large piece of snow removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds — in an effort to get his vehicle moving. After successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak to his family member. At this point, it was observed that the PistenBully started to roll. In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempts to get back into the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the PistenBully. An eyewitness detailed seeing Mr. Renner got into the PistenBully and did not see him again until the PistenBully came to a rest in a pile of snow in front of his driveway.”

Sheriff Balaam also stated that they concluded this as a tragic accident, and therefore did not suspect any foul play. There was around three feet of fresh snow on the ground at the time of the accident, which made it difficult for aid to get to the scene of the accident, however Renner was quickly administered first aid as soon as responders were on the scene. Renner’s condition seems to be stable as of now, however he did have to undergo 2 surgeries. Respectfully, details of Renner’s injuries are somewhat vague, although it is said that he was suffering from blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. Renner also reportedly remained in the intensive care unit in “critical but stable condition,” after the surgeries.

Renner’s orthopedic injuries were also reported to be pertaining to his leg, which sparked the question of whether or not his leg would have to be amputated. While it is still currently unclear whether his leg will have to be amputated, what is clear is the Renner has suffered major damage pertaining to his leg, which makes it all the more likely that Renner may have difficulties walking again, and what that means for his career and role as Hawkeye, is also still unclear.
