It is finally spring season and the wildflowers have started to bloom. Spring is by far one of the best seasons, as the scenery becomes so nice to look at and the weather starts to warm up. I will be talking about 10 of the best places to see flowers in the Bay Area. Some of these places are nearby, while others are scattered all over the Bay.
First, I will be talking about the flowers that started blooming on Columbus Parkway in Vallejo. Just simply driving down this road can reveal how many beautiful flowers have started to bloom. The flowers that can be seen here vary from poppies to lupines. These flowers are a very nice sight to see.
Another beautiful location is the Bay Area Ridge Trail in Orinda. There are many woodland flowers that bloom not far from the trail. There are tall, purple lupines that are very aesthetically pleasing to look at. This trail also offers a very nice view where you can see Mt. Diablo. Much like the last location, this trail also has poppies and flowers called “Mule’s Ears” and “Checkerbloom.”
One of my favorites is the flower fields in San Francisco. They are located at Golden Gate Park in the Botanical Garden. It has so much to offer, with gardens from many different places. There are gardens from Australia, Chile, the Mediterranean, and New Zealand. According to an article from A Passion and A Passport, “They have an impressive succulent garden, a small redwood grove, and even a cloud forest. It’s one of the most diverse gardens in the world, and you could easily spend all day there!” Although you do need to pay to get in, you can even see flowers from outside the entrance. If you are 12-17 years old, it is $7 to get in. For adults, it is $13.
Lastly, another one of my personal favorites that I have seen myself is the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco. This is also located in Golden Gate Park, and they have beautiful pink cherry blossoms in spring. These are the main attractions to the Japanese Tea Garden. The scenery is beautiful and the amazing flowers just fully encapsulate the look and a peek into the Japanese tradition.
In conclusion, the Bay Area is the home of beautiful flowers and flower fields. You can find amazing blooms at different times of the year, but some of the best flowers bloom in the spring. Spring is my favorite season for flowers, and I could admire these locations all day. The cherry blossoms at the Japanese Tea Garden happen to be some of the flowers I enjoy the most. I highly encourage you to see some of these flowers and discover the beauty of the Bay.
