Have you ever had a hard time doing something because you were so stressed? I’ve had a hard time focusing on certain things that needed to get done because I was too busy with school and after school sports. I found out that music can really help. Here are many ways music can help you with many things.
How can music boost your mood? If you are feeling down, play some music that will get your body going, because music you listen to does have an effect on your mental health. Listening to music increases blood flow to your brain and controls your emotions. Whether you’re listening to sad music, happy music, reggae, rap, etc.
An enrolled student of Benicia High School, Harlow Bacon says, “Music helps my brain function and because it helps me stay on task, I can proceed to do work or other daily activities more efficiently. I notice myself being more productive when I have some sort of music playing.”
Listening to music brings out emotional resonance, alters your brain chemistry, brings back joyful memories the songs linked to, and is comforting because music can help you understand things in a way nothing else can.
Does the music you listen to actually matter or actually have an effect on you? Yes it does. The music you listen to affects your moods, affects the way you talk, the way you act, and even affects what you do.
If you’re listening to sad music you are going to feel sad, if you’re listening to country music you might be on a boat, and when you are listening to music that talks about bad things you are consuming and feeding your brain with all of those negative thoughts that you are listening to you.
So yes, music does have a huge impact on your life and what you do. Conan Bacon, a current student at Benicia Middle School says, “Listening to music helps me write better because when I am listening to music it helps me lock in.”
Music can help you write better. Writing music is another great way to help you focus and express yourself. When you are writing music you are coming up with lyrics and poems that have a meaning to you. It’s like talking but in music form. You can share your feelings and ideas through lyrics. Turning your feelings into a song can be a nice way to express your emotions.
Next time you are stressed, listen to music and I bet you will feel much better and relieved.
