You know when you wake up ready to start your Saturday morning. One of the ways you would wanna start it is by grabbing some cereal, going to chill in the living room, and popping on some nice cartoons. Of course that’s the ideal way to spend your mornings..as a kid, when you were a kid you had shows like Adventure time, Regular Show, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, & We bare bears. These shows are peak, the most iconic and really helped us kids grow into the people we are today, one thing though, these shows came out in the 2010s so what about the next generation. What cartoons are they gonna grow up on?
There are more modern shows like Big City Greens, Craig of the Creek, Amphibia, The Owl House, etc. Those cartoons came out in the early 2020s. Some people wonder what about the future? Are more iconic cartoons gonna come out? Or are they going to be replaced by either 3-D animation or AI? It gets pretty concerning to wonder if ai is going to take over, especially art/animation students that have amazing ideas that are struggling to even find a job under an animation company. According to the article written by digiday “over 80 percent of creators use AI in some part of their workflow” and they have also stated that “Wondercraft’s survey found that 38.7 percent of creators currently use AI throughout their workflow, with 44.2 percent using AI in parts of their process.” with all this information about AI taking over the arts. Many AI videos either make no sense or are inappropriate and those videos are taking more and more of our attention spans.
On the bright side of things animation companies such as Cartoon Network are making reboots of their shows to bring back more memories for future generations. Shows like regular show & the amazing world of gumball are making more episodes now after not making episodes for years. More animation companies should go against ai & make more iconic cartoons so the next generation can brag about their childhoods instead of growing up with a soulless screen that has no love & only wants the money. Even the kids cartoon Bluey is helping by actually being a good kids show that is made for everyone to enjoy. 2-D animation has brought so much joy and memories for us that we only want the best as well for our future generations to make sure that this tradition continues. We also want the people who make 2-D to be able to create new and creative shows for everyone to talk about and love.
