Two men were injured in a shooting that occurred at the Bottom of the Fifth bar on November 27th. The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. when police received a call about a man waving a gun at people at the establishment. The conflict reportedly started from a verbal dispute which then led to the suspect brandishing a gun and shooting it. Security footage shows the suspect pointing his gun at several patrons before pushing his way through a crowd of people. He then shot two 45 year old men who tried to intervene and fled the scene on foot. The two victims Doug Everhart and Jeff Ainsworth were treated on site and then sent to the hospital with non-lethal wounds.
Using the security footage the police were able to identify the shooter as Daniel Lopez, a 33 year old Vallejo transient. Lopez was later found and arrested in Vallejo for assault with a firearm, attempted murder, and 3 counts of brandishing a firearm.
