AT LAST, Abba is back together and putting out new music! Formed in the early 1970’s , the Swedish hit making band is putting out new songs after a three decade gap since the group broke up in the early 80’s. Abba announced with a joint statement on Instagram saying, “…We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did…” The members Agnetha, Bjorn, Anni-frid, and Benny announced of two new songs and revealed one of the song titles called, “I still have faith in you”. They also exclusively revealed how they were going to perform as there digital selves on a Nbc tv special during this holiday season in December. Teaming up with the creator of American idol Simon Fuller, they hope to bring Abba music to homes all over the world.
The Abba reunion has reportedly been in the works since 2016, with Abba member Bjorn saying how, “We may have come of age, but the song is new. And it feels good.” From the beginning to end of Abba’s existence they have sold millions of albums and hit songs including “Dancing queen”, “Take a chance on me” and “Mamma Mia.” Along with the fame from the 70’s and 80’s, Abba also got people hooked to the to their music when the hit musical “Mamma Mia” came out in 1999. Then again when the musical was made into a movie, which came out in 2008 with an all star cast in the lineup. And another Mamma Mia movie set to come out summer 2018 with a slightly different cast but same enjoyable songs for everyone to look forward to.
Although the group is excited to put out new material some members are a still a little worrisome saying how, “We still don’t know if it is good – but we didn’t know when we released the other tracks either.” Abba members also talked about how, “It was like time stood still and that we only had been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience.” Abba, a band who many haven’t heard from in years, is back and ready for everyone to enjoy their new catchy music coming at the end of this year.
