The Panther Band participated in the Foothill band review this past Saturday (10/26/19) in Pleasanton, CA and competed in concert and marching. The band started their day before the sun, waking up and reporting to the high school at 6:45am. Symphonic Band competed that morning, playing Abraham’s Pursuit by David Holsinger and Ave Maria by Franz Beibl. Despite of the small room the Symphonic Band played in the music was warm and beautiful and won over the judges, who gave them First place with a score of 93.85- an impressive debut for the Symphonic Band!
In the afternoon the Panther Band also competed in marching. The band and the colorguard performed well taking the 1st in marching and took sweepstakes in showmanship and took the overall sweepstakes. The review was cut short though because of the PG&E power shut-offs, so the band didn’t get to attend awards. They are looking forward to competing in the upcoming weeks at the Merced band review and lastly the Tournament of Champions (T.O.C.) band review.
