On Saturday the Panther band participated in their last review of the fall season. Every band competed Saturday, this included symphonic band, marching band, wind ensemble and jazz band.
The day started off with Symphonic Band who performed at 9:15 in the morning. After that the Symphonic Band quickly changed into their marching uniforms and went to warm up with Wind Ensemble to prepare for marching, Marching Band performed at 11:00. After Marching Wind Ensemble quickly changed into their uniforms and went to the gym to perform, they performed at 12:20 in the afternoon. Afterwards Jazz had to very quickly head to warm as their performance started at 1:25.
This was by far the most crammed schedule that the band has had this year. Every band member performed at least twice and some performed in 3 out of the 4 performances. At awards the band was pleasantly surprised that they received multiple awards: Symphonic Band 2nd, Wind Ensemble 1st, Jazz 2nd, Colorguard 2nd, Marching Sweepstakes, and Overall Sweepstakes. For the freshmen, it was an amazing end to their first fall season, but for the seniors it was bittersweet, TOC is the last Competition until Vallejo. Many of the students shed a few tears of pride and nostalgia throughout the day, but they all dried once awards came around with the students screaming and cheering. This is not the last event for the Panther Band though, they will be performing in the Saint Patrick’s in New York this March.
