California is truly an amazing place to live. It is ranked top 19, based on USN Overall Best State Rankings in the US. California has so many things like mountains, gorgeous sunsets, rain, sunshine, beaches, oceans, and more. It is also filled with lots of people, businesses, and attractions too! But when it comes to purchasing or renting a home in California… you may want to look elsewhere. California is a crazy expensive place to live in!
California is said to be so expensive for numerous reasons. All that there is in California tends to be a factor in the high prices. Along with the demand of living and nice homes. California is said to have 38% higher cost of living than the average American city. This may not seem like a lot, but just look at this.
After research on Zillow, an online real estate company, some not so shocking results came up. A 2,459 sq foot home in Benicia California with heating/cooling, a garage, and 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms is listed for $ 1,398, 075. While a 3,860 sq foot home in Jacksonville, Florida cost almost half of the smaller Benicia home, at $510,000! It makes people wonder why such a different cost? Both cities are near attractions, eating places, etc.
Multiple home comparisons can be made regarding homes in California and homes elsewhere. It will be interesting to see how the California home market continues.
