On Wednesday, March 17, producer of American Horror Story Ryan Murphy released a teaser for AHS Season 10. The trailer was a short video clip that was 10 seconds long and showed waves crashing on a shoreline. The teaser sent American Horror Story fans in a frenzy with people trying to guess the title for the upcoming season. Many fans thought that the season would be called “Shoreline” or “Provincetown” since the season is set to take place in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
However, the excitement of the show fell short when the name of the season was revealed on Friday, March 19. Murphy posted an official title release on his Instagram page with the caption “#AHSdoublefeature”. The description of the season says “Two horrifying stories in one season… one by the sea… one by the sand.”
Fans were left underwhelmed by the official title release saying it sounded “As if it was already a bad start to a season that hasn’t been released yet” Although the title of the season along with a short description was released AHS fans are still trying to figure out what the season might revolve around. Some believe it might have something to do with the Lochness Monster while others believe it will tie in together with “Coven” a previous season of the show which aired in 2011.
However, some still have a positive outlook on the show and are excited for the milestone season. In October 2020 a cast list was released with familiar names from the previous 9 seasons of the show. Actors and Actresses such as Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Macaulay Culkin, Lily Rabe, Finn Wittrock, Billie Lourd, and Leslie Grossman make for a diverse cast in the upcoming season. Although the official title announcement was underwhelming, AHS fans believe that with the cast the season is still salvageable.
