On March 25th, 2022, we lost another legend who inspired thousands and touched millions with his playing. Taylor Hawkins, the drummer of legendary rock band Foo Fighters, was found dead shortly before the band was set to play a show in Colombia. The news was announced and concertgoers were devastated. Candles were lit and fans paid respect to the fallen drummer. Due to this devastating loss Foo Fighters have canceled the remaining tour dates.

The band announced the passing of their drummer on their social media page, saying: “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Recently, an image has surfaced of Dave Grohl sobbing upon his return to the US. The band has canceled all further tour dates as of now and it is unknown whether or not they will resume the tour.

The toxicology reports revealed that Taylor Hawkins had ten substances in his system including THC, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants, and benzodiazepines.

Several fellow musicians have expressed sorrow over the passing of Taylor Hawkins, including Queen drummer Roger Taylor, who was one of Hawkin’s biggest inspirations and also close friend. Taylor stated: “Like losing a favorite younger brother.”

Further details have yet to be released, but I think that we can all honor the memory of Taylor Hawkins by blasting some Foo Fighters in his honor. Rest In Peace Taylor, you were one of the best to ever pick up the sticks.
