Originating from Japan, Jujutsu Kaisen hit movie theaters across America Friday March 18, 2022. The action and fantasy based movie is an hour and forty-five minutes long, along with characters making an appearance from the anime.
The plot is about Yuta Okkotsu, a high schooler who gains control of an extremely powerful cursed spirit and gets enrolled in the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu high school by Sorceress to help control his power and to keep an eye on him.
The movie premiered in Japan December 2021, and has already been nominated for the best animation film from awards of the Japanese Academy. It also has a rating of 8.9/10 stars on IMDb and is now the 27th highest-grossing film in Japan.
There are a total of 13 arcs in the Jujutsu Kaisen series spanning 181 chapters, 24 episodes, and one movie. The film will be covering the ‘Cursed Child’ arc, meaning this is a prequel and took place before the first season of the anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen anime has been a top-rated and highly loved show ever since it debuted back in October 2020. It’s popular for its high-intensity battle scene, comedic atmosphere, and relatable characters.
The film will be permitted across more than 1,500 theaters nationwide as well as selected U.S IMAX theaters, both as an English dub and sub.
