After several decades, the remaining members of Pantera have decided to reunite for a tour. This decision was made a few weeks ago and the band has already found replacement members for Dimebag Darrel and Vinnie Paul, as well as being slotted to play at the upcoming Knotfest roadshow.
However, this news has not been well received by everyone. Many fans feel the reunion is a cash-grab and a betrayal to the memory of Dimebag Darrel and Vinnie Paul (though the latter was opposed to a reunion tour until the day he died).
Many have also conveyed the opposite sentiment, one being Corey Taylor from Slipknot, saying: “I know everybody in the band; I knew everybody in the prior band”,
Taylor replied “So it’s interesting. I know there’s a lot of debate about it. All I’ll say is that I’m stoked to see these songs played live. I’m stoked to see it done with respect.”
Needless to say, the Pantera reunion is causing a lot of buzz in the metal and rock community and we can only wait and see how it goes.
