Last Tuesday, in Lynn Massachusetts, a woman was found dead in her car outside of a supermarket. It was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, while the three other victims were found outside on Laighton street, and the two others were found on Highlands street. The perpetrators name was Khosay Sharafi (31). She shot her father, Mohammad Sharafi (66), and shot and killed her brother-in-law Sanjar Halin (34), both at 98 Rockway Street. Later, her father-in-law Abdul Halin, 56, was found shot inside his vehicle outside of 44 Laighton Street. Afterwards, she took her own life outside the Shop & Stop in Lynn.
No motive has been identified, however she posted a Facebook post minutes before the murders. The facebook post explains how her brother-in-law Sanjar physically abused her, and both sets of parents knew. “My parents and his parents knew all these years but have not really done much but say ‘work it out, what will people say if you separate’, or would result to victim-blaming.” She states how people can’t comprehend how abuse can affect someone, both physically and mentally, which led to what happened this August.
She continues then to talk about her fathers alleged abuse against her mother. “My father has also been abusive before & verbally but mostly financially abusive to my mom from what I’ve personally witnessed. Maybe that’s why my mom did not protect her own daughter, because she’s a victim too. But that’s no excuse, how can you let your own daughter get abused?”
While the authorities have released no information about the motive or suspect and victims names, the family spoke out however, and started a GoFundMe to support the families funeral. Over $28,000 has been raised so far.
