Stockton Serial Killer Returns After Year Hiatus

By Wyatt Carvalho

In Stockton, California in 2022 alone, 5 killings have been reported and confirmed. Every murder has been linked to the same person. This man has been reported dressed in a black hoodie with the hood up, with a black COVID-19 mask on. He was described as between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 foot 2 inches.

2 other shootings occurred earlier than the 2022 murders however.. The first shooting was in Oakland last year, killing an older man, 40 year old Juan Miguel Vasquez Serrano. After what seemed to be a break from murders, he reappeared in in Stockton in 2022, killing 5 over a period of a few months. This murder was initially not connected until the murder weapon was confirmed to be the same in each murder.

The victims this year were 35-year-old Paul Alexander Yaw, 43-year-old Salvador William Debudey Jr, 21-year-old Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, 52-year-old Juan Cruz, and 52-year-old Lorenzo Lopez. Each victim has little in common. This means that the killer instead of targeting a specific group is targeting an area. He seems to be operating within a 3 mile radius in Stockton. The only other connection is the time of night, dim light areas, and when people are alone.

There is 1 survivor of the shootings, a 46 year-old woman. She said that she biked to an encampment at Park and Union streets where she was shot on April 16, 2021 around 3:30 am. She said no words were exchanged, as he just began to shoot. No words were spoken afterwards as well.

If you have any information, the police have offered a $125,000 reward to anyone that has information that results in the arrest of the serial killer. You can submit tips at Stocktonpdca.evidence.com or call 209-937-8167
