On January 12, 2023, singer and songwriter Lisa Presley passed away in West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
On the same day at 10:37 am, the Los Angeles County paramedics were dispatched to go to a Calabasas home that had a report of someone in cardiac arrest, and according to property records of the home it indicated that Presley was a resident at the Calabasas home.
It took the paramedics six minutes to get to Presley’s home and they immediately performed CPR on Presley. A statement from Craig Little, who is a speaker for the Los Angeles County paramedics, said the paramedics “were determined the patient had signs of life” and quickly took Presley to the hospital. But soon after Presley was dropped off in the hospital, she passed away.
The cause of her death has been deferred, which means the doctor does not know the cause of death and needs more time to figure out what it was. According to Sarah Ardalani who is the spokesperson with the L.A County Dept. of Medical Examiner-Coroner, the medical examiner is “requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies”.
Presley’s close friends and past lovers have expressed their feelings publicly and privately about their loss. “Everyone is shocked over this. Why? Why did this have to happen,” Kristen Sainato, a friend of Presley said, “She deserved a long, happy life.”. “Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken.” stated ex-husband Nicolas Cage.
Presley will be laid to rest either on the 21st or 22nd in Graceland, and her exact burial spot was excavated on January 18, 2023. Her spot is next to her father Elvis Presley and her son Benjamin.
