Outside Lands Setlist Released: Fans Are In Heaven

By Liam Rockwell

Breaking news in the music world, particularly the Bay Area music scene, Outside Lands, the biggest independent music festival in America, has released its setlist. The setlist includes Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Odesza, Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Janelle Monáe, Maggie Rogers, and Fisher as its headliners, and many have said this is one of the greatest set lists in Outside Lands history.

So far the only option available is to buy 3-day tickets (single-day tickets will be available when the three-day schedule is released). However, there are different versions of the same tickets. For example, the $499 General Admission (GA) three-day pass doesn’t have any special perks.

But if you pay an extra $175 you can get the three-day GA+ pass which would allow for an easier and less crowded “expedited entry” as well as an exclusive lounge with bar service, food, beverages, water stations, and bathrooms that flush.

If you pay another $355 you get access to the three-day VIP pass, with which you will receive dedicated, less crowded, entrances at both the north and south sides of the park, VIP sections at the stages with great views, VIP locker rooms, exclusive merch, and a free poster.

And finally, if you pay another $3,870 (that’s a final price of $4899), you have access to the three-day Golden Gate Club pass. This pass, which was created “in collaboration with Ken Fulk”, has a plethora of perks, including: access to areas right in front of the stage with beverage stations at all three main stages, free access to the “Golden Gate Club Stage-to-Stage Golf Cart Fleet” which allows you to travel comfortably across the park in exclusive golf carts, free curated cocktails, wine, and beer, free all-day food from “beloved” Bay Area chefs Ravi Kapur of the Liholiho Yacht Club, Dana Younkin & Nancy Oakes of Boulevard, and Tyler Florence of Miller & Lux, your own lane at the VIP entrance, the Skydeck Parlor at Lands End which allows you to view the main stage from Ken Fulk’s living room (apparently he lives really high up or something), free access to all Night Shows, an exclusive festival gift, free restrooms with AC, free Wi-Fi, a dedicated concierge team, and finally, they will hold on to your coat for you.

That’s insane.

Many have been saying that this is extremely problematic, and that it’s an issue that’s been plaguing the entertainment industry as of late: experiences being put behind a paywall, becoming less available for the working and middle class and catering to the rich.

For now, let’s just hope that the single-day passes are within reasonable price ranges. And most importantly, if you’re planning on going to Outside Lands this coming August, make sure to have all the fun in the world!
