Stranger Things is an original Netflix series nearly everyone has heard of, it’s a series full of adventure, suspense, mystery, and supernatural experiences. It first was released in 2016 and quickly gained popularity. The first season became the most popular of the other seasons because of the core friendships among the main characters and the mystery of Will’s disappearance, along with the introduction to the second world known as the upside down.
The 80s vibe represented in the series is another nostalgic reason why Stranger Things has so many fans, seeing what life was like back then and the fun kids had spending time with friends or going on adventures, and solving mysteries is a key factor that gets viewers hooked on the show. The newest and final season of the series is finally coming out this year after the previous season left viewers on a cliff hanger in the summer of 2022. The final season took a couple years to film and fans were anxiously waiting to find out what happens to the main characters.
On November 26, 2025 the first volume of the final season was released and fans of the show were extremely excited. It was the talk of the media and everyone was making predictions about what would happen with characters and, recently, the villain Vecna. Netflix hit their biggest English TV debut ever, with a number of 58.6 million viewers and counting.
This season we find out Max is alive and in a deep coma, Will gets an eerie feeling that Vecna is nearby, and the whole town of Hawkins is crawling with military forces watching the upside down closely on their manhunt for Eleven. The most shocking part of all is when one of the main characters, Will Byers, develops supernatural abilities similar to Eleven and is able to stop Demogorgons from harming his friends. This surprised fans and many share their thoughts on what this means for future episodes.
Benicia High School student Devin Salas says, ¨Season 5 is very good, but the actors are clearly too old to be playing the characters they were casted and it seems like they have out grown them.¨
This shows the downside of being a year long fan of the series since they have taken nearly a decade to finish a 5 season show. Regardless, many fans on social media apps share how excited they were for it to come out after waiting so long. The season will likely be worth the wait.
Many fans on social media apps have also had gatherings for the release of the season with friends and family and this shows just how a good entertaining show can bring people together. The mystery aspect of this series is fun to watch with friends and leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting to see the next episode.
There are multiple predictions on social media that fans make that get a lot of attention resulting in people making countless guesses as to what happens next. It makes the watch more worth it as the plot is unpredictable and it can be exciting to see who made the accurate guess.
Benicia High School student Bella Diaz says, ¨I’m glad they brought back Eleven’s sister Eight because it made it seem like the previous episode she was in wasn’t a waste of time and she has a purpose.¨ There were also a couple new characters added to the series that received a lot of positive attention that people weren’t expecting. If you enjoy mystery, adventure, supernatural worlds, and drama, Stranger Things would be the perfect series for you.
