US Attorney Pamela Jo Bondi was fired on April 2 2026. This comes to no surprise after 14 months of PR disaster after disaster. She has done nothing but fervently follow Trump in any decision and idea he has had; her following of Trump to the bitter end led to public humiliation and a terrible farewell.
Pam Bondi’s firing in this close to mid-term does not shock anyone. During Trump’s 2016 election right before mid-terms he fired many people who had been under recent controversy. Trump wants to sway voters to his side this mid-term as his pole rankings have plummeted since the start of his election. So it makes sense to fire the women everyone hates.
But, to thoroughly understand the controversy and reason for her firing we have to go back to the beginning of Bondi’s career. Back in 2013 Pam Bondi was in her 2nd year as the head of Florida’s Office of the Attorney General (FOAG). She had just started investigating reports into fraud done by Trump’s “Trump University”.
During Pam Bondi’s investigation of Trump University the FOAG received a “donation” from the Trump Foundation. 1 month later they dropped their investigation and didn’t turn over the names of the 22 witnesses they had to the class action that had started. This “donation” went against laws that allowed government organizations to take direct donations.
Then Pam Bondi went on to defend Trump’s Impeachment trail in 2019. Then out of nowhere Trump put her in as the US Attorney General (head of the DOJ). This decision frightened many because they did not know whether Bondi would be able to push back against Trump
“But questions about Bondi’s independence as the prospective leader of the Justice Department dominated early parts of the hearing… allies have warned that political opponents could or should face criminal charges, has raised concerns about whether the Justice Department would follow through on that sentiment,” said CNN Kamisar, J. Railey
Following her placement into office she started off her new position by lying to the press. In her first press interview about her plans in office she was questioned about whether she would keep a list of Trump’s enemies, her response was, “there will never be an enemies list within the Department of Justice.” Then her first order in office was to send a list of people to investigate out to every member of the DOJ; the list in question was directly sent to her by Donald Trump.
She then spent the first few months as head of the DOJ changing their focus off prosecuting wealthy White Collar Criminals who commit fraud, banking schemes, money laundering, and bribing; they dropped over 11,000 cases of Fraud. And instead focused their entire effort on prosecuting immigration and citizenship disputes.
This was then followed by mass layoffs from DOGE and Approximately 70% of the Civil Rights Division and two-thirds of the Federal Programs Branch have quit entirely. This has brought the DOJ to such a low number of lawyers they are hiring anyone with a law degree. Before Pam Bondi took office entry level positions required a year of experience practicing law; now they are hiring people straight out of law school.
Mind you everything just described happened months into her administration aside from the “Donation”. She then went on to completely ruin her reputation even further with her handling of the Epstein files.
After she completely gutted and changed up the DOJ people were asking for further releases of the Epstein files. So Pam Bondi provided by giving Phase one of the de-classified Epstrein files out. Which were the de-classified flight logs that we got during covid. She then blamed it on an FBI agent pushing the shadow government’s agenda.
She then went on to have a man be prosecuted on federal assault charges for throwing a subway sandwich at an ICE agent. Federal assault can carry life in prison in Washington DC where he was being prosecuted. After failing that they brought it down to misdemeanor assault and also failed there.
She then goes on to botch up the Epstein situation even more by accidentally letting the press overhear her telling the president he is in the Epstein files. This was then fiercely swept under the rug because it is obviously a deep state conspiracy.
Furthermore after months of pushing by the media and the entire American public on the release and declassification of the Epstein files. She finally relents and releases 1% of the Epstein files censoring almost everything. They completely failed at censoring anything as the majority of things were able to copy and pasted out of censoring. Also 1% being over one million documents depicting rape, assault and even multiple murders of people.
Then even more assault of the media came down on her for her failure to declassify all the files, and un-censor the names of the people involved in this. During her second and so far final release which has consisted of over 3.5 million heavily redacted files. But she somehow managed to fail to redact the names of thousands of victims and she also allowed for the redaction of the names of the main co-conspirators, now to give her credit they did un-redact the co-conspirators within 24 hours of that release but only after large amounts of people on social media found out they redacted it.
Her final major controversy before her firing was her congressional hearing on the Epstein files. Which is far too large of a mess to even cover in this article.
Finally there is her firing. In the hours leading up to her firing she was told by president Trump that she was going to be fired and on her car ride with Trump over to her last public meeting she reportedly asked him to wait after the meeting to inform the public about his decision.
But during the interview Trump decided to inform the public on his decision to fire Pamela J Bondi. She was then replaced the next day by Trump’s personal attorney Todd Blanche.
To end it off Pam Bondi will leave a legacy behind as one of the worst heads of the DOJ and probably the head of one the biggest government controversies ever in History with her terrible handling of the Epstein files. She has helped push Trump’s personal agendas to the forefront of American defense and has ruined millions of lives.
