Summers is just around the corner, meaning summer shopping will soon come into consideration for many. This leaves the question for many, what will everyone be wearing this summer? Trends will be important to follow while staying cute and making sure you and your outfit can handle the summer heat.
Swim suit shopping can be difficult as summer approaches, and many want swimsuits to meet their needs and expectations. The tankini swimsuit is one that will be seen worn all over beaches, water parks, and pools.
Fashionista Annie Blackman says in an article from Instyle “Tankinis have the perfect amount of coverage, but are still totally playful.” meaning the coverage you want can still be acquired while looking cute. Another thing that comes into play is prices, the tankinis start off very cheap, on Amazon you could find them for just $30 for a set.
As for patterns that will make an appearance this summer, polka dots will be worn all over. Fashionista Remy Farrel from ‘Who What When Wear’ says “One thing that stood out to me whilst watching the Jacquemus autumn/winter 2026 show was just how chic polka dots can be.” so if you’re looking for a chic look this summer buy a piece with polka dots.
I asked a friend Arianna Sandoval what fashion trends she wanted to see this summer to get some student insight. She said she wants to see “Ballet Flatt style shoes, I like them because they make for a chic look” Mary Jane’s flats are becoming very popular appearing on Vogue and various fashion brands pages.
Low rise jeans are expected to be worn this upcoming season according to TeenVouge. They are suggested to be worn with shortcut tops or longer tops that cover the waistband for the popularly desired summer look. These jeans are perfect due to their range in price depending on your budget and you could match them with almost any look.
Track suit pants are another trendy option for this summer. According to TeenVouge “Adding a pair of these tracksuit pants to one of your ‘fits will immediately give your look an edge while still being comfortable” they make for a good choice when battling the heat due to their flowy-ness and material.
Elle’s article talks about how much accessories can elevate a fashion look. Some accessories mentioned to be trending are statement beads, Sculptural Silver, Updated Collars, and Epic Pendants. All these are said to improve outfits and give them their own originality to whatever look you’re going for.
An article from John Lewis talks about how ‘The-wear-anywhere’ dress will be an essential this upcoming summer. The dress is said to be something worn on many occasions and can be thrown over a bikini on holiday, worn with heels for a wedding or pair with trainers and a denim jacket or oversized white shirt for the office.
A more popular style you’ll be seeing this summer is layering clothing. Even just layering a shirt over a long sleeve can elevate a look or adding leg warmers, mittens, ect. Can have the same effect. Layering outfits gives a maximalist look that’s liked by many.
