Iran War, the newest war. Started by Israel on February 28, 2026; due to the US’s and Iran’s ending of their nuclear weapons negotiations. Israel started this war with a precision strike on military bases, missile silos, Tehran, and pivotal infrastructure. This caused panic across the country and killed over 200 people.
Over the next few days the Israeli air force targeted Key infrastructure like hospitals, power plants, and bridges. These attacks continued for weeks until Iran shut down the Strait of Hormuz. This shutdown cut global trade and threatened the global economy.
One of the most tragic attacks during this war is the missile strike on a girls only children’s school. There were 100 child casualties with 68 adult faculties dead. This strike was on a presumed military showing the incompetency of this war.
Trump responded to this closure of trade on truth social where he said, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F**kin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”(Donald Trump) he later went on to claim that he will kill every one in Iran.
Trump’s claims are absurd and it shows much larger political problems but in the end they were just claims made to make Iran take a cease fire and open up the strait. On April 7 the cease fire was signed and the war seemed to have come to an end.
During this whole time though congress had been arguing whether this war was even legal. Congress ended up finding the war unconstitutional on March 1 and they gave Trump 60 days to end the war.
60 days later on May 1 Trump breaks the cease fire. Claiming he did not like the terms of the agreement they came to so he extended the war by 60 days. Which while yes sounds illegal this has been done in the past.
However Trump also claims that the war should not be illegal, which is another thing in total. He claimed that “Nobody’s ever sought it before. Nobody’s ever asked for it before. It’s never been used before,” in this quote Trump claims that no one has ever asked congress to approve of a war before. Which is a lie countless presidents before him asked for approval.
