Disneyland Vs Disney World

By Gia Jarmin

For many years, people have debated whether Disney World or Disneyland is a better place to go on vacation. Disney World is better if you are looking for a 6-7 day vacation and Disneyland is better if you’re looking for a 2-4 day trip.

Disneyland first opened July 17, 1955, and is located in Anaheim California. The park has approximately 50 to 60 attractions, with 30 to 35 of them being rides. Disneyland tickets for one day per person is $104 to $224 and for children from ages 3-9 tickets are $98 to $214. If your child is under the age of 3, they can get in for free.

Disney World was first opened October 1, 1971, and is located in Florida southwest of Orlando. Tickets for Disney World per day and person is approximately $119 to $209 and for children ages 3-9 tickets are $119 and just like Disneyland, if your child is under the age of 3, they can get in for free. Disney World has over 80 rides and attractions.

The biggest thing about Disney World is the park is approximately 30,000 acres which is roughly the size of San Francisco, while Disneyland is only 500 acres.

Disneyland is much easier to get around because it is not as big. Disneyland’s hotels and downtown area are all really close together which makes things faster and less difficult.

Many people compare the castle sizes. Disneyland’s original Sleeping Beauty Castle is 77 feet and Disney World’s iconic Cinderella Castle is 189 feet. Brooke Krous a Disneyland lover says “Yes, Disney World’s Cinderella Castle is much more big, but nothing can be as classic and original than Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle,”

Disney World has more rides and is larger than Disneyland with more things to do but  Disneyland’s rides and environment is more nostalgic than Disney Worlds. Do you prefer Disneyland or Disney World?
