Jae Stephens is a singer songwriter of R&B and Pop music, and probably the most underrated one at the moment. While she may not be the most popular artist, having around 480 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, the quality of her music and aesthetic is up there with some of the most popular artists right now, if not better. Jae Stephens will be the world’s next pop star and here’s why.
For a little background, Jae Stephens has had a known following for years. She started out on Tumblr and gained spotlight just from posting life updates and jokes. She officially announced her solo music career in 2017, and debuted with a single called 24K.
Not only does she write her own music, but she’s written for many famous artists as well including Jennifer Lopez, ILLIT, Loosemble, Jihyo, and many others. She has also been known to hang out with many other artists like Pink Pantheress, Issa Rae, and Josh Levi.
She has started getting some traction recently from her 2024 ep SELLOUT, followed by SELLOUT II in 2025, and finally her album TOTAL SELLOUT. She was an opener for the girl group FLO and gained a lot more eyes on her.
Jae Stephens fan, Morris Hirakawa, had this to say about her, “I’ve had so many fan interactions with her, she’s super sweet and funny. I feel lucky to be able to follow her at this point in her career.”
What makes Jae Stephens such a great artist is her incredible talent for writing music, her insane vocal ability, and her confident and glamorous aura. Her music, which is based off of 2000s pop, has such a unique and catchy sound to it that’s like no other artist. Some of her biggest recent hits include, Afterbody, Kiss it, and Boyfriend Forever, which all do a fantastic job at giving the 2000s vibe while still having her own spin on it.
Jae has just concluded her first tour, the SELLOUT tour, as of April, where she was able to perform all of her newest songs live in front of many fans across the country. While her following isn’t insanely huge yet, her music has already made such a great impact on people.
