The fourth season of The White Lotus began filming in the South of France as of April 2026. HBO announced the return of a new series with a new group of guests and employees in the French Riviera. It is estimated to premiere in early 2027, and contains a variety of locations and even has scenes at the Cannes Festival.
The White Lotus is a mystery and drama series that follows a similar plot each season with a group of tourists staying at hotels and resorts. Each season takes place at a new location, usually in foreign countries. The groups of families attempt to enjoy their vacation when things go wrong and guests start to disappear while the audience waits until the last episode to find out the real story.
This season guests will be expected to check into Château de La Messardière in Saint- Tropez, France. The cast we know of so far consists of Helena Bonham Carter, Heather Graham, Frida Gustavsson, Vincent Cassel and more.
There will be differences from the previous seasons this time due to the artist that creates the soundtrack decided to leave the project. In an interview with New York Times Tapia de Veer said that his decision to leave was because of creative differences between him and the writer and director of the series. “People are furious about the change of the theme, and I thought that was interesting,” De Veer stated.
Just like every season of White Lotus season 4 will take place in the span of 1 week on the guests’ vacation. Aside from Saint- Tropez some rumored locations that will be featured are Cannes, and Paris, but most of the show will take place along the French Riviera and the Côte d’Azur.
The season is expected to release in 2027 as filming began this spring. You can keep up with the making of season 4 throughout the year from the director Mike White, and you can also watch seasons 1-3 on HBO to get familiar with the plot. If you enjoy murder mystery and comedy this is the perfect series for you.
