Best Types of Grout

By Nolan Karlitz

Today is the day, the discussion of the overall best grout and there is an answer. For decades the question has been circulating around the globe. Many claim that sanded grout may be the answer to the decade long question but is it? Well there are a few mandatory requirements the grout must meet and those consist of aesthetics, texture, and construction applications.

Heading into discussion, the overall best texture goes to unsanded. It gives off a satin finish and the texture is beautiful, coarse but soft at the same time. On bathroom floor tiles it is an easy surface to clean. Though there are a few things that drag it down which are in the construction aspect with a low adhesion tension.

Sanded grout has a nice aesthetic appeal to it, with a nice matte to satin finish. Sanded grout fully incorporates the tile’s beauty throughout the wall or floor. However it does get docked some points in the field of cleaning the pours are more pronounced making the cleaning process a little more drawn out.

Finally epoxy grout, well we heard of best for last but this is what I call worst for last. This epoxy grout lets off a terrible glossy finish that makes everything look tacky and cheap. The only benefits that come from epoxy grout is that it’s easy to clean though, it can stain easily. The last benefit is that it is very water resistant.

Overall the best grout easily goes to unsanded grout due to its wonderful appeal to a well put together space in any location. Though it would not be a great option for public spaces due to notwithstanding wear extremely well.
