We all love good farmers markets. Overpriced goods and the organic signs appealing to all granola grappling personas for miles. Yet, that’s not what makes the farmers market in Benicia appealing, it’s the community of the people and all of the different places vendors come from, getting an inside perspective from the Pizza Francesca tent (individual pizzas).
Every vendor that comes to the Benicia farmers market each has their own positives such as Chay’s Farm, where Chay will meet you with a kind smile and delicious berries. These berries I speak of are next level delicious. Come mid june to july the strawberries could be as expensive as gold and I would still treat myself to those berries.
With all of those berries you might need some savory flavors like Pizza Francesca or if you’re not feeling a whole pizza one could buy themselves a scone from the delicious Fox & Fawn bakehouse. Also those delicious honey straws from some of the fruit tents bring a different level of enjoyment.
A perfect plan for the Benicia farmers market. Firstly start off your park down in the gravel lot of the Benicia marina, then walk from the gravel lot west towards first street. I suggest to all to get Pizza first because the pizzas can have a long wait, so plan early and be there before 4:30 pm to secure a delicious pie. From ordering a pizza move on to the fruit vendors to get some delicious berries from Chay’s Farm, because the pizza can take a bit you should plan on snacking on some berries, maybe take a seat on a bench on the bay shore. After sitting by the benches wait for the text from the Francesca team and go get that delicious pie, after which you could grab a refreshing coffee or drink of your choice at Fox & Fawn. Also their cookies and cupcakes are phenomenal so if you’re in the mood for a treat that’s your best bet.
Enjoy all of the delicious produce and fresh food, maybe treat yourself or someone you care for with some nice flowers from the sun flower vendor who I unfortunately forget the name of but they’re splendid flowers.
