The Album Don’t You Fake It by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus was released on July 18, 2006. By August 2006, the album made #25 in top albums on the Billboard 200 webpage. Safe to say, this was well known during the 2000s era.
Don’t You Fake It consists of 11 songs, and the album as a whole has 1.25 billion total streams on Spotify. Now that you know of this album, let’s go through the individual songs.
- “In Fate’s Hands” has roughly 20 million listens on Spotify, and is the 6th most popular track on the album. This song consists of small snippets of vocal fry screaming vocals throughout the chorus, and is very catchy. Overall, I would rate this song a 8/10.
- “Waiting” has 14 million listens, and falls right under In Fate’s Hands in popularity at number 7. I believe this song is less catchy, and is more soft sounding. My rating for this is 4.5/10.
- “False Pretense” has 166 million listens, and is the 3rd most popular track on the album. This song is more upbeat, but still very mellow. This is my second favorite song on the album, and will be rated a 9.5/10
.
- “Face Down” has 728 million listens, and is the most popular track on this album. It is more upbeat in instrumentals and vocals. I would say this song is slightly overplayed, so I would rate it as a 6/10.
- “Misery Loves It’s Company” has 10 million listens, and is number 9 on the list of popularity. It’s more soft, and could be considered a more sad song. I would rate this song a 6/10.
- “Cat And Mouse” has 39 million listens, and ranks number 5 on the album’s popularity. This is a more sad song on the album, and softer sounding. I would rate this song a 7.5/10 depending on my mood.
- “Damn Regret” has 41 million listens and is right above “Cat And Mouse” at number 4. This song is in between upbeat and mellow, and has a great set of lyrics that are always fun for karaoke. I would rate this one a 7/10.
- “Atrophy” has 7 million listens and ranks number 10 in popularity. This song is faster paced than the rest and has very minimal vocal fry screaming vocals. I would rate this song a 6.5/10.
- “Seventeen Ain’t So Sweet” has 6 million listens and is the least popular song. Which is a bit surprising to me. The lyrics are positive, but focuses on that, even when things seem negative. I would rate this a 9/10.
- “Justify” has 10 million listens and is number 8 in popularity. This song is a bit slower, but still not too serene. I would rate it a 7.5/10.
- “Your Guardian Angel” has 204 million listens, and is the second most popular song on the album. This song starts slower, then transitions to be more upbeat towards the middle of the song. This is my favorite song on the album, and one of my favorite songs overall, I would say this is a 10/10.
