Recommendation Of The Pope

Church and government have never gone together. There has been conflict around every corner, until today. When Pope Francis decided to take a flight to the US on September 24th, 2015 the perspective of every American in the US changed.By showing up in New York with pride, Pope Francis redefined the union of church and state.

Pope Francis started his speech with the thought that in order to have a stable government and a strong economy you must allow the people of the country to posses the religion that they believe is right. A single religion that should be held on the government. “This means that we must be especially attentive to every type of fundamentalism, whether religious or of any other kind. A delicate balance is required to combat violence perpetrated in the name of a religion, an ideology or an economic system, while also safeguarding religious freedom, intellectual freedom and individual freedoms,” said Francis. He believed that the source of religion will balance out the government and help with peace throughout the nation. Will freedom of religion really make problems any better?

Later in his speech he moved the conversation to illegal immigration. “In recent centuries, millions of people came to this land to pursue their dream of building a future in freedom. We, the people of this continent, are not fearful of foreigners, because most of us were once foreigners,” said Francis. Convincing society that at one point we were all immigrants to this land. Immigration will only tend to rise in this generation due to educational perks and job opportunities. He does not consider today’s opportunities of education and jobs.

Pope Francis wants a more peaceful society. He made the speech to the U.S. to get away from politics for a moment and reflect on human interactions. The only thing preventing this country from a stable government is the people living in it. Change can only occur with the cooperation of the whole community.
