Director Jason Reitman decided to co-write and direct for another remake of the Ghostbusters franchise. Jason Reitman is Ivan Reitman’s son who directed and produced the original Ghostbusters. Not only will Reitman be directing it but will also be co-writing alongside Gil Kenan.
Plot
On July 15, 2016, Paul Feig directed the Ghostbusters remake involving an all-female main cast, featuring Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kristen Wiig. Although, this concept will not be coming back with this new adaptation. In an interview,from People Magazine, Reitman says, “I have so much respect for what Paul created with those brilliant actresses, and would love to see more stories from them. However, this new movie will follow the trajectory of the original film.” This film will involve the original cast and will continue from the original plot.
Cast
Original cast members have spoke on the subject. Dan Aykroyd, who played Ray Stantz has known about the film for a while. Actors including Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon have been casted. According to digitalspy, Akroyd said Bill Murray could possibly join and even if he is just a ghost. He also said the movie will be utilized in 3D and the movie is being written right now. From Complex, Original cast member Ernie Hudson said “Ivan Reitman is there and everybody is in it.”
Release
Sony has said will be released in July 10, 2020. Creators have said the filming is to start soon.
