American Music Awards Releases 2021 Performances Lineup

2021 American Music Awards Has Olivia Rodrigo As Top Nominee – Deadline

The annual American Music Awards has come around once again, and this year’s performers have already been announced. BTS, Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, and many more will each be performing during the awards ceremony on Sunday, November 21, 2021. 

The AMAs define their ceremony as a celebration of the “latest and greatest talents of the contemporary music scene.” The award show will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. It will premier just four days before Thanksgiving and be hosted by Cardi B. 

Both fans of BTS and Megan Thee Stallion have been eagerly waiting for the first ever live performance of the song “Butter,” and they will be able to view the performance during the ceremony. This track has hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with 20.9 million streams on Spotify in a single day. The song has become Korean Pop group, BTS’s, biggest hit and it features Megan Thee Stallion in a remix that was released on August 26, 2021. 

BTS has been nominated for 3 awards including “Artist of the Year,” and Megan has been nominated for 3 as well. 

Olivia Rodrigo, another big name in the pop music scene will be performing. At the age of 18, Rodrigo has set records with her hit “Driver’s License”, which was just the preview to her impressive, heartbreak fueled, debut album Sour. Rodrigo has been nominated for awards in 7 categories, including “Artist of the Year.”

Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny is also set to perform his new single “Lo Siento BB.” Real name, Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, the singer featured on the song “I Like It” by Cardi B, where he earned a large following in the United States, and has since had greater international success with his reggaeton and trap music. Ocasio sings in both Spanish and English, allowing him to better connect with his fans across the world. Ocasio will be attending the awards ceremony as not only a performer, but as someone nominated in 5 categories. 

Carrie Underwood, New Kids On The Block, Kane Brown, Jason Aldean, and R&B group New Edition were also confirmed on November 11th to have joined the performance lineup. There’s no doubt it’s sure to be a night filled with great performances and music.
