Rainy Day Ideas

By: Caleb Rippee

With October behind us, and November now half-way through, it’s safe to say that there will be plenty of rainy days ahead. And on those cold, cloudy days, when you have nothing else to do and you are stuck inside, you’re gonna need some ideas on how to make the most of the lazy day.

1. Listen to some good rainy day albums

Take advantage of the rainy day and listen to some nice rainy day albums that will complement the weather perfectly! So crack open a CD, spin some vinyl, or play it on your phone. If you aren’t sure of any good rainy day albums, I will be writing an article about the top 5 rainy day albums, so stick around for that!

2. Binge watch a movie or TV series

I know there are some of you that have been looking forward to Star Wars season, maybe rewatch The Mandalorian. If Star Wars isn’t your thing, maybe watch your favorite horror movie series or favorite superhero series. Whatever you choose, make sure you stock up on popcorn and candy for the long binge.

3. Make some nice warm food

Speaking of food, maybe try whipping up a nice warm soup and some hot chocolate. Or try baking some cake or bread and pair it with a steaming mug of cider. Anything to warm you up on a cold, rainy day spent indoors. If you are trash at cooking and you can’t handle the heat then maybe get some ramen going, hopefully that’s not too difficult. The possibilities are truly endless.

4. Read a book

Yeah yeah, I know; “But reading is booooring” look, beggars can’t be choosers here, if its raining a lot and the power ends up going out, this may be your only option. There are some great books you can read during the rainy day that will keep you interested, if you’re like me and have a short attention span, maybe read a book of short stories or poems. Maybe these pieces of literature will inspire you to write something of your own! Which brings us to our final idea.

5. Write

Just write something. It doesn’t have to be a whole novel or the dictionary. Just write something on a piece of paper. It can be a poem, story, song, question, journal entry. You could just write “I’m bored” over and over again if you want. Just get your thoughts onto paper as a way to pass the time.

Well that’s all I’ve got for you, hopefully one of these ideas got your attention and maybe you will try something new while you stay inside. Stay safe out there.
