Johnny Knoxville and Friends Return in Jackass Forever

By: Nicolas Wright

Jackass Forever was released to theaters on February 1, 2022. ‘Jackass’ was a comedy television series made by Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Tremaine. The series went on for three series from October 2000 to February 2002 on music television (MTV). The show itself featured Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Steve-O, Ryan Dunn, Ehren McGhehey, Preston Lacy, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, and Brandon DiCamillio. This group would perform various stunts and pranks on each other or the public.

The show was shut down in 2002 due to controversy over its perceived indecency and encouragement of dangerous behavior. After the series ended, many specials and movies were produced by the crew in later years. The most recent being a movie called ‘Jackass Forever’. In this movie, Johnny Knoxville with some old and new friends tackled the dangerous stunt and pranks for the last time.

Since the movie is filled with stupid stunts and pranks, it was very funny to watch. However the beginning of the movie was confusing as it wasn’t a stunt or prank, but a little movie featuring the crew. I should warn those who want to watch the movie, it’s rated R for a reason. This rating isn’t due to the dangerous stunts, but what some of the stunts do involve is  nudity.  Overall, the movie is very funny, if you can ignore the somewhat weird opening and the nudity that is featured in the movie.
