As our current president, Joe Biden, continues his last two years of his term as president, new candidates stand up to try and take his spot. Multiple people from multiple parties have already started to market their campaign early on, and some are already organizing rallies to give people their ideals and reasons why they should vote for them. A lot of politicians from the two main parties, Democratic
and Republican, are running for president and have their own individual reasons on why they want to run for president and why the people should vote for them.
From the Democratic party, confirmed and expecting candidates are our current president Joe Biden and Marriane Williamson. Williamson is a self-help author and has published 14 books in total, and has previously ran in the previous 2020 presidential election. Williamson’s policy proposal from the 2020 elections and for the future 2024 election is to call for 200-500 million dollars to be distributed by African American leaders for future community development and education. There are also other politicians from the Democratic Party that are rumored to be a future runner-up in the election. Gretchen Whitmer, Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Gavin Newsom, Amy Klobuchar, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Pete Butteigieg.
From the Republican party, confirmed and expecting candidates are former president Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy. All three of the candidates have similar ideas for their policy proposal: increasing military spending, appointing appointments to conservative judges, and sizable income tax cuts. Haley and Ramaswamy both consider Trump as a ‘friend’, but Haley and Ramaswamy want to go against him, with Ramaswamy stating ‘he is eager to take on Trump during the elections’. But with Trump running again, many of his ‘followers’ are eager for him to be back in office again, with many of his ‘followers’ stating if Trump does not get elected to office they will move out of the country. To further spread about his campaign, Trump has already set up multiple rallies and has made multiple merchandise that says ‘Trump 2024’.
