The Difference From Freshman Year to Senior Year

By Priya Reed

The difference from freshman year to senior year at Benicia high school.  I’m going to be interviewing students from freshman year and senior year, to understand the beginning of high school life too The end starting your adult life.

Students were asked, what is 1 question that you didn’t ask in your freshman year that you wish you would’ve asked now, what is it?

Senior Taliyah Smith says, “I wish I would’ve asked my teachers more questions about the work, because freshman year is the only year you have room for mess ups.”

What is a challenge you face freshman year, different from your challenges now as a senior?

Senior Samantha Green says, “I faced not wanting to make change like the people I hung around with and the things I did after school like I didn’t want to adventure out. Now some things I face now are too “ friendly”

Adults tend to say high school will change you. So let ‘s dive into the deeper meaning of what they meant by this, because it helps me and you also answer the  question of what challenge you’ve faced. So in this article it answered my question why adults say high school changes you.

How high School changed me by Jiya Choski as a senior and is now an adult.  Says, “High school can change you by a lot like appearance, sport activities and clubs.” But one thing that interested me was how she talked about  the people she surrounded herself with, saying, “I gained confidence and made friends with fascinating personalities.” She wouldn’t be the person she is today, without her friends she gained by making her grow in confidence on who she is, and having a successful job she does now.

So it led me to thinking about  another difference from your senior year-freshman year. Most graduates talk about the group of friends  they started with in freshman year usually grow apart and their circle getting smaller closer to when they leave high school their senior year. Victory Marie said, “Once you get to high school you make a lot of friends, because when you start getting older you and your friends grow apart.”
