Zara Larsson: Rise to Fame

By Alexis Navarro

Zara Larsson is a Swedish artist who has recently gained a lot of popularity through multiple aspects. It started when her song, “Symphony,” went viral on TikTok with a picture of a Lisa Frank drawing of a dolphin. After this, she did a whole rebrand and pivoted to marketing herself like the tiktok trend. She did this by wearing bright, tropical colors, dolphins, bubbles, and other fun things during her concerts, like bringing a lucky fan on stage to dance with her and spraypainting a shirt for them.

She was also featured in a song with PinkPantheress “Stateside,” which made number 1 on the Billboard global 200, and got number 6 on the Billboard hot 100.  Its popularity continued when Alysa Liu, an Olympic ice skater, performed to the song during the 2026 winter olympics, which then made a viral dance to the song that gave even more popularity to “Stateside”.

After this, she released her album Midnight Sun, which was a huge success, and has since been going on tour. From this album, numerous songs have been going viral on social media platforms like “Midnight Sun”, “Blue Moon”, “Pretty Ugly”, and “Eurosummer.” All these songs have been performed by her on her tour.

Lastly, another thing that has increased her recent popularity is her overall media presence online, with a follower count of 11.4 million on instagram, and 9.8 million on tiktok. She is also very engaging with fans by reposting and commenting on posts and videos. This helps her fans feel seen and appreciated by her, which also helps her reach fans from all over the world. She also posts frequently and responds to comments which helps her be even more engaged with her fanbase.

Overall, Zara Larsson has had a huge rise to fame in recent months. She is someone who  upcoming or struggling artists can learn from on things like marketing, having their own unique style, and how to properly engage with fans.
