Space has fascinated humans for centuries at this point in time, however now we return to the realm of manned lunar exploration. The thought of leaving our planet leaves many in a state of shock, and many still think it’s a hoax.
The last time a manned spacecraft has even been near the moon was the date of the return of the NASA Apollo 17 mission which returned back into the Earth’s atmosphere on December 19, 1972 nearly 53 years ago. Then on April 1, 2026 the Artemis II crew consisting of Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission specialist Jeremy Hansen made history leaving our atmosphere with the most launch energy recorded thanks to NASA’s new space launch system (SLS).
In the interview Bonus: Behind the Scenes of Artemis II with NASA Experts, NASA operators stated that they arrived at the mission control center at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas at 3:30 am. Showing the dramatic measures to confirm a perfect success for this mission. All hands were on deck for the historic return to the moon, alongside millions awaiting the news coverage on the journey.
With all of this amazing journey and research being completed on April 10, 2026 where all 4 crew members safely returned into Earth’s gravity. After the return of the spacecraft Christina Koch exclaimed, “We will explore. We will build. We will build ships. We will visit again. We will construct science outposts. We will drive rovers. We will do radio astronomy. We will found companies. We will bolster industry. We will inspire. But ultimately, we will always choose Earth. We will always choose each other.” Showing the amazing experience made by the first of many journeys to the moon. With this I recommend to all to search for the breathtaking photos that were taken as a product of this lunar exploration.
