Is Gen Z Lazy?

By Aidan Fraire

The older generations have had lots of things to say about Gen Z. According to the older generation, Gen Z is overly sensitive, addicted to their phones, and lacking a traditional work ethic. Is this true? Gen X are the biggest Gen Z haters. Gen X likes to act like the big, tough generation. Back in the Gen x days (1965 to 1985), it was more dangerous than it is today. Gen X was dealt a harder hand that’s for sure, but does this mean Gen X is the softer generation that’s “overly sensitive?”

Is Gen Z “overly sensitive,” or more aware of the effects of disengaging mental health and more empathetic of others? The unemployment rates are the highest in the USA, so is the Gen Z “lacking a work ethic” their faults? How is Gen Z supposed to work when it’s so hard to get a job? It is hard to tell if Gen Z is actually lazy or Gen X is overreacting, Only time will tell. Nowadays, people struggle to see that times are changing so fast and it comes off strange to older generations.

As time comes, things will work out for the better for Gen Z, even though they might seem “lazy” to the newer generation. As they mature and grow older, experience will come with it, pushing them to set larger goals, and pushing them to achieve those goals, resulting in a decline in their laziness as time goes on.
